CSI: Primary is an interactive CD-ROM that allows pupils to solve a number of mysteries using forensic techniques. The forensic evidence for each crime has already been collected and put into a PowerPoint presentation that allows the pupils to navigate through the program comparing the forensic evidence collected at the crime scene with that of the suspects. They then use their own intuition to decide who committed the crime. Along the way they learn about the various techniques employed by Crime Scene Investigators to catch the villains. This is a great, fun way, for pupils to improve their problem solving skills as well as increasing their confidence in using ICT.
The PowerPoint presentation takes approximately 20 - 30 minutes to complete depending upon the ability of the pupils. Included on the CD-ROM are fun classroom practical activities aimed at improving pupils’ thinking skills as well as writing activities to improve their literacy skills.
