‘CSI: Secondary - An Interactive Murder Mystery’

Kitchen Chemistry Welcome to CSI: Secondary

A teacher is murdered in the assembly hall, a suspicious white powder covers the floor and a trail of blood leads to a broken window. When further revelations are unearthed about the dead teacher the list of potential suspects grows. Your pupils will need to keep their wits about them in order to sift through the mass of forensic evidence and identify the murderer in this exciting new resource from Kitchen Chemistry.

CSI: Secondary is an interactive CD-ROM that allows pupils to solve the murder using forensic techniques. The forensic evidence for the crime has already been collected and put into a PowerPoint presentation that allows the pupils to navigate through the program comparing the forensic evidence collected at the crime scene with that of the suspects. They then use their own intuition to decide who committed the crime. Along the way they learn about the various techniques employed by Crime Scene Investigators to catch the villains. This is a great, fun way, for pupils to improve their problem solving skills as well as increasing their motivation for studying Science.

The PowerPoint presentation takes approximately 30 - 40 minutes to complete depending upon the ability of the pupils. The CD-ROM has easy to set up practical activities as well as all the information you need to set up your own crime scene and allow your pupils to experience the excitement of a real forensic investigation.
